Life is a Darkroom Photography

1. What You're Getting

When you book a session with Life is a Darkroom Photography, you're commissioning original photographic work. We create images during your session and deliver them to you via Pixieset gallery. Your session includes photographer time, creative direction, and a curated gallery of final images.

2. What You Can Do With Your Photos

Once you receive gallery access, you can use the images as you please. You can:

Download and print originals for personal use

Share on social media and tag us (but no pressure)

Use them on your personal website or portfolio

Print them, frame them, order merch with them—whatever you want

The only limitation: don't use them for commercial purposes without first talking to us. If you want to license the images for business, let's discuss.

3. Scheduling and Cancellations

When you book a session, you're reserving the photographer's time. If you need to reschedule, please give us at least 48 hours' notice. Life happens—just let us know as soon as possible.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the session fee applies. If you reschedule within that window, you still hold your payment, but toward a new session date.

4. Payment

We offer a range of session options at various price points. Some sessions are pay-what-you-can, which means you decide how much to pay. Other sessions have set pricing. Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in advance.

Once a session has been completed and work has been delivered, payment is final. We don't offer refunds. If you're unsatisfied with your images, we offer a reshoot at no additional charge (within reason—let's talk about what that looks like).

5. Gallery Access and Timeline

Your photos will be delivered to a private Pixieset gallery. Delivery typically happens within 2-3 weeks of your session. Gallery access is personal and non-transferable—it's just for you and anyone you explicitly invite.

We maintain your original files and may archive them after 60 days (though we don't always). If you need files re-delivered after the archive, there may be a small fee to locate and export them.

6. Usage of Your Images

We may use your images in our portfolio and on social media to show our work, unless you ask us not to. Your name, if provided, may be included as a credit. If you want to keep your session private, just let us know.

7. Model Releases

By booking a session, you give us permission to use your images as described above. If you're bringing children under 18 or pets, the responsible adult must consent to the terms.

8. What We Aren't Liable For

We take our work seriously, but unexpected things happen. We're not liable for:

Equipment failure (though this is rare, and we have backup gear)

Weather or outdoor conditions beyond our control

Pixieset server outages or data loss on their end

Lost or damaged files due to your own backup failures

If something goes seriously wrong (we lose your files on our end, for example), we'll work with you to make it right—that's on us.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make changes that affect your existing sessions or galleries, we'll give you notice.
